Practicing the good parts of life

Gentle Therapy Place

Gentle: a calm sea with soft waves that fall upon the beach.

Therapy: guidance, journey, discovery, safety, friendship, support.

Place: the time and space where we let go, where we rehearse our futures.

Have you been through a lot? Life experiences can really mark us, in good ways and not so good ways. The not so good ways might keep us feeling down and unable to function the way we'd like. Maybe our relationships suffer, or we struggle with work, responsibilities, daily activities, or with guilt, shame and inner burdens. We try to cope somehow - but it's not enough; we still know we have lost some of our control. We need to have someone listen and appreciate the very real tears, frustration, anger, gloom, irritability and anxiety that may enter our moments unbidden! We need to unburden ourselves and re-create hope.

I like to use a gentle, caring, non-judgmental and creative approach. EMDR can be so wonderful when dealing with trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, and a lot of other problems that keep us stuck. I am certified in EMDR as well as other trauma-informed, creative and energy modalities. I offer a sharing space for us to meet.

I would be honored to speak with you confidentially about any issues you want to bring up. You will always be in control of every session; you can provide feedback on how your life is going, what you are getting out of our work together, the direction you want your therapy to take, and anything else that is on your mind. This is for and about you!

About

Individuals

We will use trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral therapy;
EMDR and facets of EMDR for a gentle journey into trauma resolution; expressive arts activities that will free the images, sounds and feelings in our bodies; and gentle movement and breathing to find our center so that we can live in relaxed bodies.

Couples

Sometimes couples can't find their groove. Maybe some things are just a little bit off. We can discover how we want to collaborate with each other to create a fun and satisfying relationship.

Families can get together in a safe space where each family member gets the chance to express concerns, successes, feedback, thoughts, feelings, and assessments of what's going on in daily life.

I am available for consulting for individuals and organizations. If you would like to find out more about implementing changes to your programming or processes, please contact me.

I have experience consulting for retirement and assisted living facilities, having helped usher in functional fitness programming along with staff training. I also offer coaching services.
